Fleetwood Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Coupe

When it was first unveiled, the 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Coupe was greatly admired because of its style and grace. These cars have been among the most sought after Classics throughout the years. Just 3,100 were built, and sadly, most did not survive.

The Series 62 was equipped with 150 bhp, 346 cubic inches, 90-degree L-head V8 engine with hydraulic lifters, Stromberg carburetor, automatic transmission, independent front suspension via coil springs and wishbones, and rear suspension via longitudinal semi-elliptic leaf springs and Hotchkiss semi-floating rear axle, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Its wheelbase is 126 inches. The 1941 model was the very first Cadillac to offered with an automatic transmission.

The bold, flat, chromed grille and domed hood dominated the new look. Two new styling concepts were introduced - a horizontal valance enclosing the space between the bodywork and bumpers and the front fender windsplit creases that began at the headlamps and extended horizontally back along each side of the body. A revised Goddess of Speed mascot was mounted on top, where she also serves as the hood release.

All Series 62 Convertibles were fitted with Deluxe equipment like a heater, radio, power antenna, power top, rear wheel skirts, and whitewall tires with chrome wheel covers.
