Coachbuild wholesale @ Gooding & Co.
Gooding & Company, Pebble Beach

Money needs to roll and so do the Special Coachbuilt cars we love so much. Next Saturday, August 15th and Sunday the 16th, a large number of coachbuilt cars are intended to roll from one owner to the next at the Gooding & Company auction at Pebble Beach. No less than 55 coachbuilt jewels are on the shopping list!

Some very famous exclusive masterpieces are being offered, like Scaglietti's Corvette (first out of a series of three) and Pininfarina's one-off Corvette "Rondine", designed by Dutchman Tom Tjaarda. One of three Aston Martins DB2/4 Spiders by Bertone will enter the podium, as well as the one-off Duesenberg SJ Roadster by Bohman & Schwartz. Besides the 'usual' Mulliner, Park Ward, Gurney Nutting and Pininfarina and Ghia bodied cars, there are also some nice Labourdette and Chapron cars.

The 1938 Bugatti T57C Special Coupe, first owned by Ettore Bugatti himself and with coachwork by the Bugatti factory, is also a one-off, but technically it's not a coachbuild, so we will not picture it here. One-off or not, is not about cars with factory bodies. ;)

Let's start with a selection of the available pictures.
