It provides essential facts about the manufacturers: complete name, location, years active, types of coachworks built, chassis marques used, and other basic data. Brief car stylists biographies, list of main body styles and bibliographical references complete this Dictionary.
Included are companies and personalities involved in coachbuilding and car styling, but only those using passenger or sports car chassis for their creations. Commercial vehicle chassis (buses, trucks) are excluded. All entries are listed in alphabetical order, with extensive cross-referencing. Personal names are in italics. Production years indicate the period of car body production; the founding year (if different) is mentioned in the text.
