Röhr Junior private rebuilt

Post by TommyK »

A man from Ober-Ramstadt/Germany (home of the Röhr works) bought the Röhr Junior from new around 1933. Several years later, when the design of the Junior was out of time, he let rebuild his car by a local carpenter with a streamline plywood body. Decades later, the car was found in a barn in Ober-Ramstadt and has been restored. It is now part of the Röhr collection in the local museum in Ober-Ramstadt.

I am quite sure you mixed up two different cars here.
The bodywork of the car from your photo was built by Dörr & Schreck.

The plywood car you have mentioned in the text is a different one.
I guess you mean the Ostwald car:

I don't know the exact history of the plywood car from the first photo, but it has nothing to do with Dörr & Schreck.
I've seen this car some years ago at an event near Frankfurt/Main and I asked the man who presented it about the bodywork. He told me, that it was privately built.
