Peugeot 203 Roger Dillmann

Post by carparazzi1956 »

Roger Dillmann, a garage owner from the Mulhouse area, acquired a 1955 Peugeot 203 Cabriolet and undertook an extensive conversion that took almost two years in order to enter the car in competitions. The car was lowered considerably and fitted with a supercharger, which increased the power output to around 100 hp.
At the race in Turckheim, it achieved an excellent fourth place out of around 60 participants.
The car was then stored in a barn for two decades. Roger Ott, Roger Dillmann's former mechanic, saved the car from this sad fate by turning to his son Gérard Dillmann to restore the car.
Gérard Dillmann, a recognised classic car restorer and racing driver (Formula 3, sports prototypes, Andros Trophy and a start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1993), took on the task of restoring the badly weathered car.
