One of two J's with Saoutchik coachwork, J-307-2324.
What happened to this car?
I cannot believe so many magnificent cars, acknowledged as such at the time, ended up in a crusher!
Unfortunately, dropping high-explosive ordnance did not do a lot for the survival chances of many things from pre-war Europe.
I have long been puzzled by what appears to be a modification to the top of the radiator shell on this Duesenberg. It is very hard to make it out - does anyone have any information, or is it just a strange illusion.
Clive.

The other Saoutchik Duesenberg J, a four light Victoria, went to Sweden and disappeared without a trace. But who knows more? (The Duesenberg is on the right, folks..) (and see Figoni, further on..

Anton, you are quite right, even more so, 'my' pic is already in there, so I will remove it, but yours is not, so perhaps it should go there?
Interesting one this: I have also had this one down as Figoni, BUT, those helmet wings are very similar on the two bodies, are they not? Perhaps the esteemed Mr Geelen's first instinct was right and it is time for a re-appraisal.
That's interesting, i had never noticed that! Yet quite all Duesenberg-experts i know of don't know anything about the second Saoutchik Duesy, and J-263 is relatively well documented.

I would go for saoutchik is more likely than Figoni-body on this Duesy. Interesting of a non-kreuger Duesenberg in Sweden, although I'm not sure whether Åkerlunds Duesenberg may have been owned by Torsten or Ivar Kreuger before.
Erik Åkerlund made his fortune in publishing business, that he sold to the Bonnier company, and then he started a package company with the Rausign brothers, the tetra-pak bros.
At this time there was merely a handful of people here that could afford such ultra luxury cars as Duesenbergs, so they are easily counted.
