It is indeed. It was originally bright blue (Rootes Group Hillman Hunter colour!) but was repainted in the USA. Not sure it's ever been white; it just looks it in black & white pictures (although having said that I saw it at Earls Court London Motor Show in 1967 and don't remember it being blue. If you asked me what colour it was then I would have said white!)

This was the car in its original form. It was very soon changed to mirror the much more successful frontal appearance of the Tina Coupe, but with twin round lights instead of rectangular units.

This is the mysterious Gilbern T-11 that was never factory finished. The car is currently under restoration. (since a long time!) Does anyone knows if the design of this beauty goes back to Trevor Fiore? Think I've read something somewhere about it, but can't remember anymore.

Good to see the T11 is progressing! It's a stunner. And, yes, Trevor Fiore was involved with it as he assisted the body development. But it is believed Michael Leather was largely responsible for the design. He was then director of Gilbern.

Thanks a lot! It has strong resemblance to the lines of the Monteverdi Hai (!) and Renault Alpine A 310. Therefore it doesn't makes me wonder that he at least was involved in that project.
I did some (quick) efforts on my own....(please apologize the fake Mangusta wheels... )

Yes, the last 2 designs remind me of the Bond Equipe (like the one in my garage right now!) and I wondered whether they were design concepts for that very car - check the rear end. I have read that Bond management wanted the Trident design, with Fiore giving up in disgust when the design was butchered to fit on a Trimph Vitesse chassis...the final design being completed internally by Bond. However, seeing those concepts make me wonder if there wasn't a different story?

You mean the last two of the design sketches from an earlier post, right? I believe they were meant as styling exercizes for a Bond Equipe Mk3 - a car that never was, but I'm not sure. Carnut might know.

Yes, that's right...the last two sketches of the previous post. I have seen pictures of the prototype Equipe Mk.3, as noted by a few people, it looked a lot like a 1972 Morris Marina 2-door. I have a feeling these sketches date from the mid-1960's, so probably a bit earlier, but who knows for sure? Carnut maybe?
I like owning cars that are primarily the work one individual designer, being an industrial designer, I love the scope of their influence. I previously owned a '65 Studebaker Cruiser (Lark), which was mainly the work of Brook Stevens. He needs a section of his own too, less of an artiste, but a brilliant industrial designer.

Thankyou Michiel, I will. I've been admiring some of your work too, unfortunately, I don't have such a fantastic portfolio but my work pays the bills
Always admired Fiore's work (especially the Trident, Monteverdi Hai and crazy Citroen Karin), glad he's got some attention here. Tom Karen is another similar designer who needs a section...I'll have to start searching through my car books for pictures.

Hi Duane,
do you know Nick Wotherspoon's book on Lawrie Bond? A great read.
It mentions 'a totally new Equipe which was to be based on the Triumph 2000 floorpan and mechanical components'. The car is said to have been a Reliant (Bond's then-owners) proposal, but never got any further then the prototype stage.
A designer is not mentioned, but I believe it must have been Bond's own draughtsman Alan Pounder and not Fiore, as it definately is not as sharply styled as the Equipe Mk2 (my favourite too!).

Yes, I have this book, it relays the same story I've abbreviated above. Fiore had a very distinct and modern style he 'peddled' throughout the 60's, which was fantastic IMO. The Bond certainly looks like his work (although Alan Pounder was credited as converting the concept to production), but awkward from certain angles (cabin too thin and tall for the rest of the body, exaggerated overhang)...the Trident was definatetly his best wedge, the Hai probably his most handsome design. I feel lucky to have some of his work.
