Harley J. Earl (November 22, 1893–April 10, 1969) was an automotive stylist and engineer and industrial designer. He is most famous for his time at General Motors from 1927 until 1959, where he was the first Vice President of Design...
We can post his work here. Specially his extreme concept cars.
I begin with the Buick Y-Job of 1938. First concept car of the industry in which he rode until 1951 when he changed it for the first Le Sabre. The proud owner/inventor with it.

Buick has used the name Wildcat for five concept vehicles, three in the early 1950s, one in 1985 and another in 1997. The 1953 Wildcat I, 1954 Wildcat II and 1955 Wildcat III were all designed under the guidance of Harley Earl. The I and II still exist today. Wildcat I

The XP-300 was another aluminum-bodied convertible and was the result of a friendly design competition between Harley Earl and Buick’s chief engineer Charles Chayne. It was powered by a supercharged V-8 engine that ran on a mixture of methanol and gasoline. I think this is not a Motorama car.

'Round 1952 the Motorama period of GM “dream cars” was initiated by Harley Earl. Under Harley’s leadership, Styling Section created dozens of unique vehicles that would travel the country, demonstrate the future of automotive design, and capture the imagination of the American public by showing them a futuristic vision of personal transportation. One of the motorama cars was the first Corvette 1953

I don't know if I really like all of these concept cars. But it's a tribute to a aesthetic dream of a very concrete era and of course to one of the most brilliant designers of the XXth century. Perhaps GM needs someone like him today...
The first Impala 1956
More to come...
