Almost two years since the original post, but hey - better late than never, right?
Dany Brawand was born in 1934 or 1935 in Vevey in Switzerland. In 1952 he started working at Michelotti’s workshop, where he stayed until 1966. He was Giovanni Michelotti’s right-hand man and must have had some input into designs made in those years, especially in the 60s. He was responsible for Michelotti’s work for Moretti and in 1966 switched to Moretti, becoming head of development and design. As such, he was responsible for most of Moretti designs until the company’s closure in 1987. Later he started a consultancy office, working mostly for Fiat, particularly on an aluminium spaceframe vehicle that became the new Multipla. In late 1990s he retired. Dany Brawand died of cancer on January 13, 2012 in Torino, aged 77. He was cremated and later buried in Vevey on the Saint-Martin cemetery.
This updated is entitled to me because i'm the curator of the Michelotti's archive actually.
Dany Brawand was born in 1934 in Vevey, Switzerland. In 1952 he started working at the Ghia-Aigle workshop, where Michelotti was appointed as chief designer by Luciano Segre. In late 1956 Michelotti negotiated his job position and decided to quit because the large quantity of work in Turin. So Segre appointed Frua to replace him. Later Brawand rang to Michelotti asking for a job in Turin. Michelotti accepted and Brawand began to work with him and to learn the basics of the design, because he never attempt a technical school. In late 1959 Michelotti opened a small workshop to built his own prototypes and signed some important design-consultancy agreements with the big car-producers. Brawand was part of this team and he was put in charge for some projects at the end. For some obscure reasons he decided to continue the Moretti's production in particular, until when he sold some his own projects to Moretti directly, without the Michelotti's authorization. When Michelotti became aware of it, Brawand was fired and in late 1965 switched to Moretti, becoming head of development and design in 1966.
