I'm trying to help identify this body for a friend. It is aluminum skinned with steel fenders and running boards. The hood and radiator shell are missing. I believe it was skinned over wood, but the wood was later replaced with steel. Because of the many compound curves and intricacy of the dash and convertible top mechanism, I do not believe it was homebuilt. It is a two seater with a bench seat. The dual scuttle, suicide doors, front splash apron, and lack of peak on the front fenders may be of help identifying it. I initially thought it was a Singer Le Mans, but it is proportionally too large. It is approximately 25% larger than a Singer or MG of that style, so I went down the Bentley, SS, and Jag avenues to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello to You,
first I have checked 'Enc. of GB-Cars <1974'. Without the brands, You have excluded, I have some similar looking cars found:
01. AC 16.80hp/1938
02. British-Salmson 12.70hp/1934
03. Hillman Aero Minx Sports/1935
04. Lagonda Rapier Ranelagh Sports/1936
05. Riley Lynx Tourer/1936

If it is nothing, I can check 'A>Z of GB Coachbuilders 1919>60'. Or, do You believe, Your car is younger than 1960?

With greetings, from GERmany,

Frank ;) .

Frank,

Thank you for your input. I looked at photos of the suggestions you made but most are missing the prominent dual scuttle and/or the distinctive splash pan beneath the radiator.

What do You prefer to check next, kit-car or CB-work?
Question and greetings to You,

Frank.

I have just checked the Enc. of kit-cars 1949>2012 and nothing found to help You. Maybe, tomorrow I will find time for Enc. of GB-CB-cars 1919>60.

With weekend-greetings, Frank.

Hello, again,

some more similar cars as follow:

01. GB-Ford REAL-Y (8)/1933>38
02. Standard-Beauvais 10-Sport/1934
03. Wolseley-Compton Hornet-Arrow/1932>33

All three CB-companies have had different, but similar offers in stock.

With greetings, Frank.
