I mentioned the galleries just for additional info and to see if there are any missing pictures. It wasn't meant to overrule this thread.

Do you have some more info about the one you just posted?

I can only add that this car is from 1955 or 1956.

To make the Bertone - Aston Martin series complete:

A very rare and handsome 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 Cabriolet, which was previously owned by the legendary Grand Prix and sports-racing driver, Innes Ireland, is one of the highlights of Bonhams’ annual sale of Collectors’ Motor Cars and Automobilia at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed on 1 July 2011. Recently restored to concours condition, it has attracted a pre-sale estimate of £500,000 – 700,000.

One of two DB2/4s known to have been bodied in this style by Bertone, the famous Italian coachbuilder, it was delivered new to San Francisco resident, Mrs Edith Field, in 1954. Mrs Field is recorded as having exhibited the car at the 1955 Pebble Beach Concours d’elegance, where it achieved 3rd place in the two-seater sports car category.

Want to know something even crazier than there being only two of them? Figuring out that your father owned one of them and sold it in the 60's for $2,200!

My father owned this one (LML/506), having bought it from my grandfather for $2,200 in 1963. My grandfather having bought it from a used car dealer in north Atlanta, GA. My dad couldn't afford to run it, so he sold it to buyers from Macon GA in 1965, again for $2,200. See the attached photos and docs. Attachment one is LML/506 in it's original gold paint, with my mother sitting in the passenger's seat. The second is after he had the car painted red (He had no idea this was Mrs. Field's Pebble Beach Concours-winning car).

The third attachment is a letter from Bertone after my dad requested more info on the coachwork, and the fourth is a letter from Aston Martin in response to my dad's requests for more info regarding the chassis. Note the chassis and engine #'s in the letter.

Now what I'd like to figure out, is how my grandfather and father managed to own this car when the official story is that Mrs. Field took new delivery of it, and maintained ownership until Innes Ireland purchased it in the 80's. Any ideas on how to solve this mystery would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! That picture posted just above is interesting... It looks like LML/504 with the driving lights inset in the grill., but it looks like it's missing the vertical elements on the front bumper. What's the story with that one? Was there a third Bertone body than 504 & 506?

Bertone also produced the body for eight Aston Martin DB3. Here is DB3/6 with a reconstruction of its original Bertone body:
