commisions# - 1243 ; chassis# - 62.140 ; 2x-built, maybe one or two similar ones more ; the photo was taken in CH/1978 ...,

I've never really appreciated this habit of masking cars registrations - I can understand it though for modern cars, but what is exactly the reason for some to erase registration plates on period pictures? I've even seen this on Citroën CX factory shots for the 1970's!

Too bad as these were two nice pictures of a truly beautiful car...

Hi, Lorenzo,
You are right with Your thoughts.
But, there are different rules in every country.
And maybe, we have found the pictures in this way, plate-touched-up long time ago.
For example, I have a lot of European magazines of the 50s with car-offers, as some jears old used-car, black/white-pics encluded. Pics, You will find decades later again running in the www, to enjoy following generations ...,
...and if it is up-to-date-owners wish ...,

... best wishes and greetings to You, Frank ;) .
