HI all,

How do we know that Vignale bodied two (2) Aerodynamic coupes? I cant find a single period picture of the second coupe (#002 - 4 port holes, no roof vent), the 001 is clear and present in period, 002 is a challenge. and given its Argentina history, one always has to start with "?".

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Elad

p.s.
quoting books does not count ;-)

I speak for myself: i never saw the #002 and i can't dispute about it. What i know is that there are 4 similar cars: 2 in red ( 2 port holes and 4 port holes) and 2 in silver (4 port holes, no port holes).

Thanks gents very important info!

So far i have seen only one Silver car. Oddly enough in your older pictures, the car (i guess Argentina 1980's pictures) has no traffickers and the dash looks substantially different.

In the Japanese pictures -of what should be the same car- there are traffickers and the dash is revised.

I wonder what we know of the cars Argentina history? Stan Newak in his CISITALIA story written for Automobile Quarterly (1969) stats that the car was recently discovered in Argentina (the silver one). He is writing in 1969, so for sure the car existed pre-that statement, but was it build in period? do we know for sure?

The car could have been constructed from authentic drawing brought to Argentina by Dusio in the late 1940's. very mysterious!?

Same car (From Japan) is up for sale this August at Gooding's Pebble beach auctions

Vignale 'Cassone' Berlinetta and Savonuzzi #002

I didn't know the Cassone was still alive, although with some modifications.
Here two period pics from 1947 Mille Miglia.
