The prototype Austin Seven Arrow was built by Compton Sons & Terry for F J Simmonds in 1929:

Early production bodies were virtually identical but with the spare wheel located flat inside the tail rather than vertically through the external hatch. In 1930 the spare wheel was moved to the exterior to provide better luggage space:
