This one must have been already posted but without the side spare wheel. Do you know which # it is, Rob?

The same car on the most recent Mille Miglia, B27BN, supplied to C.M. Scrutton in October 1934, design 1097, body 3253, a one-off, originally supplied with polished Ace wheeldiscs.
It is on page 1, with the the spare wheel , BTW, :?

And first registration: BJJ395

Thanks Rob, but does it mean that B27BN has different left and right doors (unlike B107KU) or is it two different restorations?

A pretty one-off VandenPlas two door, two light, two seat drop head coupé body on the 1934 Bentley 3 1/2 litre chassis, B69BL, supplied to Miss Frances Rolls, in september 1934. Design 1095/1, body 3231

1934 Bentley 3-1/2 Litre #B12AH driven vigorously by this lady during a slalom race.
The car is still alive in the UK.

5th car in my first post on page 1 =)
Should we try and attempt to get all VandenPlas Derby Bentley's on here with a pic: after all they only did the 77 bodies on 3 1/2 litres and 122 on 4 1/4 litres? :P

The top one is B106MR, which off the top of my head was a 1938 Earls Court show car, I think. Captions to the others would say that they are the same car, in a much less attractive colour than the green that it is in the b&w photo.

Clive.

B128MX used to be black and green (as shown above in the post of Sun Mar 22, 2009), but its present owner presented this car resplendent in this livery, and took away a prize , at the 2012 RREC Annual Rally.

Looks like B161MX in rob's post 22MAR09 but he or boybentley will tell you better.

Three of this design were built, so there are not many options: B 42 MR ( 1938 London Motor Show)B76MR (1939 Brussels and Geneva Motor Shows) and B161MX. It was destined to become the new 'standardised' design by VandenPlas, and this is B42MR.

B11AE rebodied later by Gurney Nutting. Today has a third body. Am I correct?

If the white car is B106MR then it has been substantially rebodied: the trailing edge of the front wing is different, and the door top line is totally different. I think the white car is a different chassis altogether.

Absolutely true Rob. And to prove that here is a picture in colour of 106MR. But which one is the white car?

I am afraid that my original post was not as clear as it should have been (I am not good with mornings!). There is no question that the lighter car is not B106MR - that is why it would help if sources were quoted. I have been looking through detail photographs of late VdP bodies but have yet to find enough to positively nail down the mis-identified (in the caption) car.

Clive.
