#YX5102 which started life as a Gurney Nutting open tourer was rebodied by Vanden Plas in 1938 as a very large Sports Saloon (body 3660) to design 1592. The car stil exists in the Southward Car Museum in New Zealand.

Hi Rob,
I'm not sure if that is the same car, unless it was rebuilt twice. The rear side windows have a different shape and the water drainage follows the window on the one and goes to the back of the car in the other. I don't see a quarter window in the top one and the door hinges are placed differently. It looks as if your car's doorhandles are also placed higher.

The body is almost certainly from a Humber Snipe (so you could claim that it was by Thrupp & Maberly). I have seen this car before but cannot remember anything of its history or circumstances.

Clive.

#YX5113 delivered november 1931 to J.A. Player. Bodynumber #1745 this was the last of three built to this design which was called a "panelled Weymann-Vanvooren saloon".
Luckily this car has survived with it's original body and is now located in the US.
