Lanchester Straight Eight #41296, tourer, bodynumber #3462 to design 1312, 1936 for H.H. Jam Sahib of Nawanagar
Lanchester Straight Eight #43587, saloon, bodynumber #3566 to design 1422, 04/1937 for the Maharani of Nawanagar

Daimler produced 6 Special Straight Eight Lanchesters (after Daimler stopped producing Lanchesters) for 2 special customers.

2 were ordered by the Maharajah of Nawanagar, both were fitted with Vanden Plas coachwork and the other 4 were ordered by King George VI all bodied by Hooper (see Hooper section)

The only tourer body #41296, was shipped to New Zealand in later life by the Maharajah's nephew to whom he had given the car for his 18th birthday.
In 2000 it was shown at Pebble Beach, where it received a second in class price.

It has been sold at auction in April 2010 for 225.000 NZ$

Post war Lanchester. I assume it's a Vanden Plas and not Van den Plas as it is written. Am I wrong to do so?

Again a Daimler (this time DE27) produced as Lanchester after the take over by Daimler for a well known Lanchester customer, the Jam Sahib of Nawanagar.
2 were made, #51049 and #51050, bodies 4031 and 4032, finished in pale blue, original price was 1.695 UK Pounds
Pictures I have of this car, show it without the side vents.
