Exposición clasicos atarazanas...AYMAMI you know more about it?

Nothing Joâo, this was an exhibition in Valencia last year called Clásicos Depotivos made by the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia to support de first F1 Grand Prix of the city. It's certainly a Saoutchik 135M Roadster, with a Madrid plate (or so it seems) but I never saw it before this exhibition. By the way, several unusual Pegasos were showed up there, maybe you can find them in this nice forum.

1949 Delahaye 175S Cabriolet by Saoutchik

I found an old picture here: http://www.rodsnsods.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=85678

Someone in that thread says: "The first owner of this car, chassis 815025, was Sir John Gaul of England who brought the car to several European concours, catching the attention of the press and public wherever it went. In 1949, it won top honors at the Grand Castle du Bois de Boulogne in Paris, the Monte Carlo Concours and Coup de l'Automobile in San Remo almost always accompanied by an attractive lady.

By the seventies the roadster had made its way to Colorado where maintenance on the race-spec engine and Dubonnet suspension became a nuisance. The owner then chopped out the entire front section of the chassis to fit a GM Toronado system which was front wheel drive.

For nearly forty years the original engine and car were separated much to the blissfull ignorance of everyone who could still appreciate its distinct design. Eventually all the parts were reunited with a single owner who then took the bold task of refurbishing the massive Delahaye. It made a welcome debut at the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours where it graced the shoreline"

I was wondering what kind of car was at the bottom left corner. Then I found the pictures from Robgeelen.

So i decided to post the pic in this topic. Does anyone know the chassis number?

PS: you can also see:- top left corner: Delahaye 145 Franay
- bottom right corner: Delage JELM by Autobineau (subsidiary of L&M)
- centre & upper right side: 3 Chapron bodied cars maybe 4.

I have this as a 235 or 175 by Saoutchik, but it seems very restrained and without panache: you will know..

This is a Letourneur & Marchand Delahaye 135 exhibited at the Paris motor show in 1950.

A while ago we all very adamant that a two tone fixed head coupé Delahaye had never been through the hands of Jacques Saoutchik, but I cannot trace the discussion anymore in these pages. I would like to look it up as it now has appeared on the front of Thouroughbred & Classic Cars with another lovely history...

It's under Van Leersum.

My T&CC must be late this month.

The timelag between its appearance in the shops in the Netherlands and its arrival in post when subscribed was such that I did not renew that and buy them each month. Tx for the Van Leersum tip!
