A dramatic illustration of the '28 Saoutchik 680, used for M-B advertising...

Anyone familiar with the illustrator? The name is in the upper right corner.

Not an actual photo, but worthy, I hope, for inclusion here.

Thanks! Drawings like these are at least just as worthy as photos, if not even more valuable.

Thank you Frank!

The links were most helpful. I was at your Veterama Show last month (a first-timer),
and it did not occur to me to look for posters and prints. Next year, I will, as now
I know what to look for.

The second of these cars is most probably the one at the start of this thread, and it shows that the rather tasteless wooden cappings on the doors are not original. The picture has been offered for sale on eBay along with another (attached) listed as Saoutchik, but I am not convinced. This one looks later than the chassis and has some Darrin leanings.

As for the other body, I cannot see anything that would identify this as a Saoutchik body - where does the picture come from Anton?

I found it on madle.org, a photo report of the concours in Schwetzingen, i think it is some kind of rebody, the latter of the two pictures is, as you said, a confirmed Saoutchik.

It is a very heavily modified 1921 28/95 trying to look like one of the later S series, but, as much as anything, the very heavy wings around the wooden artillery wheels give it away.

There are more pictures here:-

No, not the same car, look at the louvres in the bonnet.
The pictures are for sale at an auction house in Germany for approx. 1.200 euro (!)
