"Joseph Grose and the Motor Car: a True Pioneer" by Alan Burman was published by Phillimore about 15 years ago, for those who are interested. I think that it is still in print.

It's a very nice written book about Joseph Grose, his activities and the history of british motoring.
I can fully recommend it !
