I've found two pics on flickr of a Bugatti Type 44 Coupe Profile Gangloff by Wiederkehr (#44784 1929).
From Bugattibuilder: #78 T44 Torpedo Wiederkehr 1928 (44380), Guy Huet (CH)
And (from flickr) a pic of a Bugatti (if it's a Bugatti...) by Widerkehr from Strasbourg.
I don't know if Wiederkehr and Widerkehr it's the same coachbuilder...

If you do a Google-search you will find both being used for the same coachbuilder. Strasbourg is very close to Colmar so I think we're dealing with two locations for the same company. The establishment in Colmar was rented by Gangloff before this company purchased Wiederkehr.

Maybe the problem is that it's a French coachbuilder with a German name...

Eh, Alsatian is a mixture of French and German. Switser-Deutsch is the variant of German spoken in part of Switzerland. Not the same. In the Alsace it is quite common to have German words, pronounced in French. The main language is French, but many people speak Germen as well. Note that before the first world war this area was German (since 1870, French-German war). It is one of the best gastronomic areas I have ever come across...

Car restored by Lalanne before 1972. Become the property of Vernholes, then of Seydoux, with a false identity, without never to be identified formally.
Identified as 441074 for the “bugatti centenary 1981”, then after having discovered the existence from another 441074, since is identified as being the 44784. There is also another car with the “Carte Grise” of 44784: the '44784'. Owner : Fransico Pueche (E) since 2007, see bugattiregister.com on T44 unknown-H2896BBC
