The story of this home-built special started with a crashed Alfa Romeo Montreal...
In 1972 Vincenzo Marciano took the car and started the building of his own dreamcar. Of the original car (in bad condition) he used only the ZF gearbox and the engine, a V8 of 2593cc developed from the 33 Stradale 2-litre.
The rear suspension came from a Jaguar E-Type, while the wheels were real 33 Stradale 13" ones and the windshield came from the Ferrari 250 LM, like the head- and rearlights. Marciano designed the tubular chassis, merged with the original components of the Montreal still useful, and built the body, inspired from the Alfa 33, the Ferrari 250 LM and all the italian sportscars of the 70s.
The works lasted for years and years, and only at the end of the 90s Marciano ended this terrific car, but the first run of Marciano 268A (2.6 litre, 8 cylinders, A means Anteriore = front engine) was for Alfa Romeo 100 years, in 2010.
