Here is one works special body I am particularly fond of.
It was developed by RR/Bentley in 1961 and named Korea. It used the platform of the future Silver Shadow, with a 6 inch reduction of the wheelbase and was intended to be the Continental version of the Bentley T Series (the equivalent of the RR Silver Shadow).
The style was by W Koren, stylist at the Crewe styling department. Koren styled the Park Ward S2 Continental and you can see a strong resemblance between the two cars, but the front was very innovative for a Bentley, with a smaller radiator, quad integrated headlights and flashers on the top of the front wings, not unlike Facel II's rear lights. The interior was quite interesting too, still luxurious, but also sportier than a traditionnal Bentley, with a very complete dashboard, and the automatic gear selector placed on the transmission tunnel, instead of behind the steering wheel.
This sportiness was verified on tests, when the top speed was measured at 133 mph (214 km/h) ! We don't know the reason, but sadly, the tests were interupted at the end of 1961 and the project shelved. The car, without its mechanics, stayed at the Crewe factory until 1970, when it was scrapped…

And here is another Bentley, which knew the same fate as the Korea, more than 30 years later : the Java Concept, introduced at the 1994 Geneva Salon de l'Auto : a very sporty four convertible, with removable carbon fibre hardtop. The engine was a 3,5 double turbo V8 developed by Cosworth. The styling was the work of Graham Hull in conjunction with Design Research Associates.
RR/Bentley communication announced : "Concept Java is a compact two-door sporting convertible coupé that could set the scene for the next generation of sporting Bentleys.
But the agreement with BMW and later, the sale to Volkswagen shelved the project.
The "compact" Bentley grew into a W12 6 litres car, developped by VW.

And here is the 1985 Project 90, announcing the future Bentley Continental R, launched in 1991.
The styling was by John Heffernan and Ken Greenley, from IAD.
The Project 90 was just a mock-up, without engine or drivetrain.

The latter two are not Bentley special bodies, but productions by Jankel, and they should be categorised as such.
