Frua did three prototypes for the coming P1800, these are designated 958X
The first pic is interesting, a closer looks reveals that the "V" in the grill is retouched , but its still visible here together with a Volvo emblem.

Where did you find those b/w photos? I recognized a man who seems to be involved in the project, but he isn't Frua.

I'm new to this interesting forum. I have written a book about the birth and youth of the Volvo P1800, title "Volvo P1800 - from idea to prototype and production".
When I am now working with the next edition of this book + the continued story of the Volvo P1800 from 1963-73 I am looking for more true facts about the involvement of Luigi Segre (Ghia) and Frua in the Volvo project already in 1956. => Does anyone have any sources of info regarding this sportscars project in the design phase?

I catalogued the Segre private archive. Send me a PM or an e-mail.
