The red car has since been restored in great splendour as shown...in tones of brown

Hi Rob,
I believe the red car (later brown) is B26BH

I agree, it may have been inspired by the Bullion Franay Bentley, but it is a later production, not by Franay..

Here is another view of the '47 Franay Bentley, taken at the 2009 Amelia Island Concours.
I think the new color treatment does much to lower the car's silhouette and appeal.

It was also shown at Meadow Brook, a few months later. The next time I see it, or the owners,
I will try to get the Chassis/Motor Numbers and post them here.

The so called bullion 1935 Franay Bentley 3 1/2 litre about which there are many stories exist. Whether or not these are true, no matter, it is a nice car.

Left hand drive, finally. Why it took Bentley Motors until 1949 before starting delivery of left hand drive chassis is a mystery. It cannot have helped the export drive for hard currency set out by the Labour government nor the sales volume of the company.

Very much their swansong on Bentley, this early S1 Continental Two Door Saloon is clearly a continuation of the azure R-type Continental shown earlier. It unfortunately lacks panache, a certain 'je ne sais pas quois'. It was on the 2011 Essen event, for sale, but went largely unnoticed. The colour does not help nor do the 'trendy' added motives. The pics are appalling, but that is Blackberry pics for you. If somebody has better, yes please..

Yes, the Dali "signatures" are a particularly crass addition.
