I did a frame up restoration and major body reconstruction of this car in 1990's. It was built to semi -Le Mans specs with a large gas tank and filler, long bonnet, adjustable shocks, heavy duty 3 row spoked wheels and Brookland windscreens. This car is known as the Hanley & Dutton car and was built to try and break the speed record coast to coast using the Lincoln Highway. The majority of the wood had been replaced when the car was hit by a large truck in 1947 and it was converted to a 4 place car at that time so the body had to be changed and the wood replaced. The aluminum skins were in very poor conditions and had to be replaced. The frame was bent and the transmission had the mounting ear broken off and had to be repaired.
