Login again, scroll down the index page and see something has changed at the bottom.
See you there.

Is it me or my computer, or have there been no new posts to this forum for about a week?

I still don't know how to find new posts if they haven't been in the last few hours.

It's 4 hours since I posted the last message, but already it has left the "New Postings" listing.

This list will become very difficult to continue using unless there is some way of new listings being visible for at least 24 hours, if not longer.

I tried to find a setting for this option in the Administrator Control Panel without success...
I really don't know if there is a solution...

Is the problem here not slightly different: when you log in "new posts" are shown, but once you have logged out from that session they are no longer deemed to be "new" to you, regardless of whether or not you have actually looked at them. Consequently they are not flagged up for you on your next visit.

The problem of postings losing their "newness" too soon is different, and I have to say that I have only recently become aware that I had missed some postings because of there being some kind of time limit being applied. I think this is a more serious problem - the other one is just a bit of a nuisance!

Mon ami Clive
There are issues with messages I have never seen before, because they have been and gone since I last logged on. I log on at least once a day, but I have the disadvantage of being both on the other side of the world and, it is thought by people in the northern hemisphere, upside down as well!

There are a number of posts that I discover sometimes weeks later that have been posted, but have disappeared from the 'new posts' section before I ever get a chance to see them.
I wonder if the administrator can tell us how long a message stays in the 'new posts' area before it disappears?

Hi. I can't understand exactly what's going on: New posts doesn't remain for long as "view new posts", it has always been like this, but if you go to "board index" and then "european coachbuilders", for instance, then you can see the yellow light on the left o the threats you haven't seen, let's say "pininfarina" and then again you will see the yellow lights on the left on in the post you have not read. Always like this.
Now: Does the yellow lights have been deemed or there's no new posts?
Right now I'm gonna post on Stabilimenti Farina Fiat and let me know if it works

It works! :good:
The "view new posts" search should work until you log out... if you don't read a new post and you log out you wouldn't find it again in the "view new posts", but you can find every new post following theyellow lights!!
I don't know if new posts are deleted from "view new posts" after a while... but the yellow lights works forever...
Greetings,
MPC

OK; thanks - I now understand what the symbols mean.
It means that every time I have to look at almost every page under the Board Index to see if there are new items that might interest me. This takes a LONG time!

Sure. When there's a lot of new posts it's enervating to shut out the yellow lights one by one, somehow you're forced to watch them all ( I try to keep the forum clean of them) but sometimes you stumble on something you didn't care otherwise that's nice.
Well, lets think that there has been any new post for a week ;)

Is it possible to filter by automobile make ?

I was chasing a make of car, and found a couple of coachbuilders, who had worked their magic on it !

I would be helpful if a filter could be introduced for a make of car, and therefore find all associated coachbuilders.

This would certainly help to see the styles, put on the same make, and therefore comparisons could be formulated !

Or am I looking for "El Dorado", or "Shangrila" ?

Hi Rovinman! At first sight I think that it is almost Eldorado or Shangri-La, for I suppose first we should list all the makes, which is a lot of work when we think in all the makes that doesn't exist anymore. And maybe the forum design should be changed as well.
BUT, what I do, is to search with the magnifying glass you have on the top and ask for any make. Not exactly what you mean but it works.
Anyway I can be wrong. (I'm not a specialist). Can anyone disauthorize me please?

Searching by the make should work, especially if you search within topic titles only. We try to stick to a standard topic title format "{name_of_coachbuilder} {make_of_car}", like "Hooper Lagonda" or "Bertone Lancia", so searching should give you a list of all coachbuilders for a maker.

This is the place to post anything you want the admin and moderators to know. Only with your help we could improve this forum and the website http://www.COACHBUILD.com.

If you want a coachbuilder to be added to the list, just post your request here: viewtopic.php?f=81&t=52

.........................................................................

I note on my profile (veesixteen) that I apparently joined (once already) on: "Thu May 27, 2010 4:31 pm".
Can you please confirm this, because it seems I joined a second time in November 2017.
Is there any record of my posting(s) - if any - in 2010.

Please also indicate how I may contact the user "TommyK" who - according to the site - DOES NOT EXIST and yet he/she is a prolific "poster".

A number of users like myself have pointed out that "TommyK" NEVER credits the owner(s) of the photos he posts. including a number of them he seems to have "borrowed" from the "Cadillac Database" that I created and compiled in the mid-80s and donated to the Club's museum in 1999. It would be appreciated if "TommyK" would kindly CREDIT the "Cadillac-LaSalle Club Museum and Research Center" for any images he "borrows" from that site ... and others!
