Porsche 356 B Coupe 1962

Only a few cars dating from the post-WWII period garner as much sympathy as the iconic Porsche 356. Every ride in this car is an experience, owing to all the ‘thumbs up' one receives along the way. The 356 B T5 was the last model to have the single grill in the hood, while also being the technologically superior successor to the previous A series. The B version with single grill is the rarest of the series. This 356 B was born in the Reutter's factory in 1962, a company that Porsche and Karmann subcontracted in order to meet the relatively high production demand. Porsche built and assembled the engine and gearbox. Many 356s were subsequently exported to America, as was this car, sold new in dry and sunny California, which has wonderfully preserved her metal plating. She came to the Netherlands in 1992, and some years later was restored and revised. Repainted in 2015 on behalf of our client. All the mechanics were checked and repaired where necessary, with all invoices from this work available. Owing to the low vehicle weight, this 356 drives great, still impressively fast and smooth. She has a beautiful look to her. The Porsche 356 is an icon, exuding a unique simplicity and romance unlike any other classic car.

At that time, car makers had not yet figured out that they could 'abuse' us with seemingly unending lists of options. The radio and chrome hubcaps deserve special mention.

The car was professionally repainted in the original color in 2015, and, owing to only being driven in good weather, she remains pristine, with no signs of wear anywhere. The body and undercarriage are rust-free. Most of the rubbers were renewed during the last renovations. The car’s chrome is flawless, with a beautiful deep shine.

When you step in, this 356 immediately takes you back in time. The power of simplicity, as the saying goes, is what it’s all about. Three beautiful gauges that tell you all you need to know about the car. Her next owner will soon hold the same large wooden steering wheel originally held by her first wealthy American owner back in 1962. The entire interior is beautiful, flawless and original.

This 356 has a 60hp engine in the back that is in excellent condition. It was extensively serviced and technically updated in 2015. The area all around the engine is clean and outfitted with the proper insulation material. The trunk is clean, pristine and rust-free, while also containing the spare tire. The wheels are original, with chromed hubcaps and tires that are like new.

This 356 has had some cosmetic restorations over the course of her long life, but thanks to her Californian origin, much of the sheet metal and undercarriage remain original. The car was thoroughly checked for rust in 2015, when she also repainted, which was professionally and beautifully done. Never had to be taken apart and reassembled. This is a preserved 356 that looks visually well- kept together, as the various owners all had a deep understanding of how to properly invest in her. From the pricing, one might imagine that competitions will be won with this 356, so healthy, beautiful and fine driving is she. Mechanically, the car is in good condition, with the braking system and carburetors having been completely revised. She has also been serviced and the MOT renewed. For those who want to experience true driving pleasure in his or her 356, this is great opportunity and wise investment.

I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them. Congratulations on an excellent website.
