Jaguar XJR15 1991
Jaguar XJR15 1991

What happens when racecar engineers use their knowledge and skill to build a road-legal supercar? A unique 6L V12 powered British beast called the "XJR15" is the result.

This very rare Jaguar XJR 15 has recently became available for purchase. The car has never been registered and has 52 original miles on the odometer. Only 51 copies of the car have been built worldwide. Unfortunately two of the fifty-one were lost, one was lost in a collision and the other one sank. This made the car even rarer than it already was.

The current owner of this car is a collector and has decided that he wants to reduce his collection. We therefore sell this car on consignment.

The Jaguar Sport XJR-15 is a two-seater sports car produced by Jaguar Sport a subsidiary of Jaguar and Tom Walkinshaw Racing between 1990 and 1992. Only 51 were made, each selling for GB(£)500,000. The chassis was mechanically based on the Le Mans-winning Jaguar XJR-9, designed by Tony Southgate. The body of the XJR-15 was designed by Peter Stevens, who went on to co-design the McLaren F1. The car featured in a single-make racing series called the Jaguar Intercontinental Challenge, which supported three Formula 1 races (Monaco, Silverstone and Spa) in 1991. The XJR-15 was the world's first road-car made entirely out of carbon-fibre.

I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them. Congratulations on an excellent website.
