Heuliez was very quick with a coachbuilt Porsche 914 in 1970. The donor car was hardly a year old when they unveiled their variant on the Paris Motorshow that year. The design was from French-born Jacques Cooper, who'd previously worked for Renault and General Motors.
The car attracted positive comments and Heuliez were thinking of a small series production, but lack of finance withdrew them from it. Originally painted two-tone yellow, it was repainted in 1971 in yellow and orange when it was shown again.
I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them.
Congratulations on an excellent website.
