The Carrosserie Pourtout was a French coachbuilding company, founded in 1925 by Marcel Pourtout.

The rich and famous bought their chassis from their favorite manufacturers and shipped them to Pourtout for a custom design.
Georges Clémenceau, Prime Minister of France from 1917 to 1920, owned a Pourtout-bodied car.
Up to the outbreak of World War II, Pourtout worked on the top equipment of the day.
Bugatti, Voisin, Ballot, Minerva, Delage, Hispano-Suiza, Delahaye, Delaunay-Belleville, Talbot-Lago, Peugeot and Buick all carried Pourtout bodies.

In 1933, Marcel met Georges Paulin, a dental technician who much preferred working on advanced aerodynamic designs.
In 1935, Darl'Mat, Paulin and Pourtout combined their talents to produce the revolutionary Peugeot 601 Eclipse.

The company still exists today, but they now only focus on car repair.

I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them. Congratulations on an excellent website.
