It would be a great benefit if everyone would put the model years of the cars, when known,
in every post/image. The info is usually there from the originating source
(car show/concours info card, book, web page, etc.), so please share it with us;
it will make the Forum both more informative, and a better reference/research tool.

We all have our areas of expertise, and with the subtle differences that occur year to year,
series to series, we will all gain from this simple inclusion.

A correction in general Vignale info:

This is a very interesting forum.However, some things are distinctly lacking
Firstly and most importantly there needs to be far more info on provenance - considering how rare some of the cars are i feel ownership history is essential
Number of surviving cars
More stats - ie % of cars sold to a particular country
Original purchase price paid new
Also noticed Crayford and Rapport do not appear to be listed

Hello from a new member who is keen to post photos on your excellent website. One question: what are the restrictions on posted photos? Do they have to be unpublished and original, and what is the copyright position on photos already published in books, club journals, auction catalogues, trade adverts, magazines etc.?

Welcome to our forum.

For posting images, the maximum size is 2000x2000 pix.
If any picture is copyrighted, or if you don't know who owns it, please mention the source (if known). In fact, mention the sources as much as possible to provide our readers with as many leads as possible.

If there may be any copyright issues, COACHBUILD.com will be the party to contact. We'll deal with it and remove pics on request.

That's true, that information would be fantastic addition to the forum (and site). The problem is it's often hard to obtain such info. Owners of these cars are a secretive bunch in a large part and do not like to advertise owning such valuable vehicles. Not to mention that often the history of ownership is extremely hard to find because these cars tend to go missing for decades before being found at some garage or shed.

As for the numbers and sales data - the coachbuilding companies weren't genberally renowned for their thorough and extensive archives. Sometimes it's not even known how many cars were actually built, not to mention where and to whom were sold.

That said, it's a good idea to add that info wherever possible. After all, we want coachbuild.com to be the best source for coachbuilt cars there is

Many of the Etceterini's can and should be filed under their coachbuilder.

I agree the forum seems to be biased towards certain countries more than others, and the interest shown from outside will unfortunately mirror this. Some countries have every small coachbuilder listed and every screw ever fitted illustrated, and other countries do obviously not merit this attention, anmd many smaller coachbuilders which have been suggested are never shown in the listings. Lack of interest? Bias? But by whom? The moderators? The contributors? Or perhaps its should just be called the Italian Coachbuilders Forum

In my case, it's a matter of time... Or better said, the lack of it. Running the site, filling up the gallery, doing research on commission, administrating the forum... Too much to be a one man show. Luckily Joao is a great help in the forum, but we could use some more assistence.

As I'm italian, shouldn't be strange that I prefer italian coachbuilt cars. But I think also that italian style is one of the most famous all over the world, and I don't think it's strange this predominance of it.
Then we have to consider that in this forum two of the main contributors (me and PG1964) are italians...
Maybe in the future new members from other countries will work on the smaller sections...

If you need some help to administrate the forum I can give some of my time to it, cause I'm on-line almost every day.
