The coach painting technique of vertical stripes in two colours seems to be known as "dutch pinck" but I can't find an reference to it on the net. Dutch pinck brings up pictures of a type of sailing vessel.

This example, in aubergine and black, is on a 2016 replica of a 1912 open-front limousine. Does anybody know the origin of the expression?
