Here one finds the perfection of the air-cooled 911 Turbo, in this the last of the series before water-cooling took over. Equipped with four-wheel drive to ensure the 408hpk engine behaves responsibly, while of course also helping to keep the 911’s tail under control under the force of the mighty engine. This model features a rather remarkable technological change: two turbos instead of one, with the two smaller turbos delivering the same power and speed as one large turbo. Consequently, this model is also often called the 993 Bi-Turbo. Technologically, there was even more: as standard a 993 Turbo has an active locking differential, viscous-coupling for the front and rear wheel drive, ABS, ABD and airbags. This was a very expensive car to buy at the time, which likely contributed to the fact that only 5,978 of these beauties were ever built, and this is also now a key condition for making a responsible investment in a classic car: rarity. Concurrently, the story behind the car is equally important, especially for a car in which good maintenance means optimal performance. The 993 Turbo we offer here was always professionally maintained by the Porsche dealership, according to the prescribed service schedule. When purchasing the car, the last owner had her checked at Porsche Eindhoven (with 122,000km on the odometer), where all was done that was needed - invoices available. This Turbo meets the demands of the serious aficionado/investor: never damaged, relatively rare, a highly desirable body color, perfectly maintained, a well-documented service history...and attractively priced, too.
Fully equipped with automatic climate control, fully electric seats, power sunroof, rear windshield wiper, xenon lighting (very expensive at that time), third brake light, supple raf leather, original Porsche radio with CD changer, trip computer, and more.
A Porsche Turbo in the same color as the one on the poster hanging over your bed - black! - and on a body that was never damaged. No signs of wear and tear found anywhere – not even a pebble chip. Stone-guard stickers on the screens and flawless bumpers – no dents or parking scrapes. The sliding sun roof shuts tight. This 993 Turbo has the look of a car that is but a few years’ old.
The interior deserves special praise: all completely original and flawless, and even the entry side of the seats show now sign of wear. Moreover, the car retains her new car scent from 1996. The entire interior features double-stitched leather, both on the seats, where the raf leather was an option, and on the door panels and dashboard. The leather-covered steering wheel is perfectly smooth, and all dials, gauges and switches are like new.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT, TRUNK SPACE, WHEELS & TIRES
A wonderfully clean engine compartment featuring all the original factory stickers. The matching engine, as stated on the sticker in the booklet, does exactly what it must do. Owing to the excellent maintenance, the engine runs beautifully - no smoke, no oil leaks, no odd noises and perfect oil pressure. The trunk contains the original undamaged cover, and the Porsche CD changer is also neatly ‘packed’ in this material. Here one also finds the spare tire, car tools and compressor. The 'hollow spoke' 993 Turbo wheels have excellent tires all around.
I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them.
