Amilcar C6 Echelle 0.66 1927
Chassis no. 16
•Accurate 0.66-scale evocation of the 1927 Amilcar C6
•Aluminium body; steel chassis; seats in best quality leather
•Sounder replicating the noise of an original Amilcar C6
Hand made in Switzerland, this 0.66-scale evocation of the 1927 Amilcar C6 is the last of 16 built. The prototype competed in the 'Little Big Mans' event at the Le Mans Classic in 2014 (photographs on file) following which 15 'production' cars were completed. The body is new and made entirely of aluminium. The chassis is steel, and the entire car is built to the original pattern. Reproduced at 0.66-scale by a sculptor, the 'Pegasus' radiator mascot was cast in brass and then chromium plated.
The car is electrically powered, using a 48-volt, 1,000-Watt, brush-less motor, which drives the rear axle via a differential. Power is drawn from a high-capacity lithium-ion battery; charging is said to be easy and relatively fast. Top speed is 40km/h, and the car is stopped by drum brakes. To warn of its approach, it is equipped with an adjustable sounder replicating the noise made by an original Amilcar C6. For demonstrations, it is possible to operate the sounder without rotating the wheels. The seats are trimmed in best quality leather, while the two control pedals can be adjusted to suit drivers of different heights. Perfect for any collector's garage and said to behave perfectly on the racetrack, the car is sold with a book explaining how the 16 chassis were built.
I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them.
Congratulations on an excellent website.
