Fantuzzi's golden Spider body was first installed on the chassis of 330 TR-LM #0808TR in 1963. After its racing career, this 330 TR-LM also received a new Coupe body by Fantuzzi and the car was once offered for sale with both the Coupe and the Spider body.
In 1964 the Spider body was constructed onto #4381SA - originally the first of four 1963 330 LM Berlinettas - which was owned by film company Crossograph SpA. The spider received a striking gold paint job and was used extensively by actor Terence Stamp in one of Fellini's more eccentric films, 'Histoires Extraordinaires' of 1968.
After the turning of Federico Fellini's movie the car sat unused for several years in a parking lot in Rome. The original 330 LMB body was then put back on #4381SA. In the late seventies the gold metallic Fantuzzi Spider body was sold by Massimo Chiappini in Rome to Giulio Dubbini of Padova, who put it on 330 GT 2+2 #8733 of 1966-vintage and repainted it red.
I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them.
Congratulations on an excellent website.
